Voluntary Running Wheel Assessments


Voluntary running wheel can be used as a measure of murine behavioural activity and consequently to explore how deviations in behaviour may relate to the efficacy of a specific treatment. The assay reveals an individual animal’s voluntary capacity for running on a wheel. Mice are placed in individual voluntary running wheel cages, and the number of wheel rotations are recorded to give the total distance run over a certain period of time.
