Fatigue resistance measurement assay can be used to measure a muscle’s resistance to fatigue and recovery time. Neuromuscular murine models are more susceptible to fatigue and take an extended period to recover. Measurements may be carried out on the extensor digitorum longus (EDL), soleus or diaphragm muscles.
The muscle is repeatedly stimulated using an electric current to produce multiple isometric contractions over a period of time. The force is measured before fatigue and the rate of recovery is measured by determining the force produced post fatigue.
