Dr. Lucena received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Federal University of Paraiba, followed by a Master and a PhD degree in Pharmacology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, both in Brazil. Prior to joining AGADA, Dr. Lucena worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Pharmacology Department at Dalhousie University, investigating the influence of spinal cord modulation in the nociceptive and inflammatory responses seen in animal models of arthritis, and as team manager in the Clinical Development Department of a medical device company. Dr. Lucena works to conduct preclinical and clinical studies with the AGADA research team.
