Dr. Poroca received his Biomedical Sciences degree and his Masters in Tropical Medicine from the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil), working in the diagnosis of neglected tropical diseases and completed his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics at Dalhousie University, working with the defective cystic fibrosis protein, CFTR. Prior to joining AGADA, he worked as a research assistant and postdoctoral fellow for Dalhousie University studying protein-protein interactions and host-pathogen interactions in cystic fibrosis, and as a postdoctoral fellow for Sainte-Justine Hospital Research Center focusing on animal models for sialic acid-related diseases and glycans role in cell signaling. Dr. Poroca works to conduct preclinical and clinical studies with the AGADA research team.
